TQ HPR50 Motor
TQ is a German company founded in 1994 who specialize in electric components across a range of industries. With the HPR50, they simply rewrote the rules, delivering an unprecedented weight/power ratio of 1.8 kg for 50Nm. With a diameter of 8 cm, TQ has innovated by using a harmonic gear system. This allows for a reduction of size, while also increasing the accuracy of the system. This results in a lighter bike, better integration, while reducing backlash for a more natural pedalling sensation. This technology also allows for the reduction in system noise for a truly natural experience. After all, you are in the outdoors to, well, enjoy the outdoors.
TQ HPR50 Battery
The Solace features a 360Wh internal battery which can be further complemented by a 160Wh external range extender. Thanks to TQ’s electronic expertise, the HPR50 battery, when combined with the range extender, guarantees maximum performance right through until empty. TQ use specific battery cells to ensure both the battery and range extender continue at full output, even as it reaches low capacity. The system can be charged with the range extender in place, the smart charger, prioritising the bike battery’s charge first, so you’ll never be caught short when heading out to ride.
TQ HPR50 Range Extender
In addition to the 360Wh battery integrated in downtube, all Solace models are prepared to use an additional 160Wh range extender. The Solace’s range extender comes as an accessory and looks like a simple water bottle. Utilising a SCOTT specific quick-release system, the range extender is easy to swap in for a bottle cage tool free. Thanks to TQ’s expertise and unique cell efficiency, battery capacity is optimized to the fullest. The e-bike’s system automatically adapts to having two power sources with SMART technology.
TQ HPR Display
To maintain a clean cockpit, the TQ system puts the focus on a minimalistic display located in the top tube paired to a discrete shifter on the handlebar. At a glance, the LED display provides all the essential info, such as the battery level %, remaining KM range and even Watts, thanks to an integrated power meter. Want more? Link up your phone and dive deep using the TQ E-Bike app, available through the Apple App or Google Play Store. With an automatic Bluetooth connection, you can track your ride and customize your modes. Want to use it with a bike computer? That’s no problem too. Utilizing the built in ANT+, the system easily connects with a bike computer such as a Garmin, Hammerhead or Wahoo unit.
TQ HPR50 App
The TQ app offers real benefit and is easy to use. It’s easy to connect, customize and control your TQ-powered e-bike with the TQ E-Bike app. The bike comes with a suggested SCOTT motor tune, with the app you can further tune your drive unit to either save battery life or maximise the power output. You can alter the pedal response either for a faster motor uptake or to slow it down for a more natural feeling. Lastly you can customize the display, altering the order and number of screens available, turn on and off control sounds etc.
Tyre Clearance
The Solace offers ultimate flexibility to the end consumer with tire clearance up to 50c, enables a versatile platform of two bikes. The road version will feature 38c tires and the gravel version comes with massive 50c tyres.

Ready to ride
Every bike from Start Fitness is fully checked & assembled before despatch and will arrive, almost, ready to ride. Each bike is assembled by one of our CyTech accredited mechanics and then packed into one of our custom boxes.
*This process has a lead time of 2-4 working days.
Unfortunately during peak times this may be slightly delayed. We will however, aim to despatch your bike as quickly as possible. Minimal assembly, with basic tools, is required before you can ride. Assembly tools are not usually included.
Making sure you are home
Once fully checked and boxed, we will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery date when you will be home to take delivery. Our bikes are despatched with a premium delivery service which usually delivers next working day (excludes weekends & bank holidays) for mainland UK orders, it may take slightly longer for some areas, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and outlying Scottish areas. European bike deliveries usually take approximately one week.
Taking Delivery
Any mechanical or cosmetic issues need to be reported to us within one week of the delivery date. If you do not plan on using the bike straight away, we advise that you remove it from the box and check it over ASAP as we cannot be responsible for any reported issues (other than standard warranty issues) later than one week from the date that the bicycle was delivered.
First Service
After a few weeks of riding (we recommend around 6-8 weeks, regardless of how much the bike has been used), a new bike will need a service to make final adjustments and to re-check all nuts and bolts. This is necessary as the bike goes through a ‘bedding in’ phase, after which, final adjustment may be necessary. We recommend that this is carried out by a CyTech qualified mechanic.
It is important to have these checks carried out to prevent any avoidable problems which may not be covered by warranty and to ensure the smooth running of your bicycle. If you’re local to us, we’re able to offer this first service free of charge* at our Newcastle store (NE1 6JE). You’ll just need to call our workshop on 0191 917 3825 to book your service in, and don’t forget to bring your proof of purchase when you drop the bike off with us.
If you’ve had the bike delivered, it will be your responsibility to ensure a first service is carried out at a trusted bike shop local to you, preferably by a Cytech certified mechanic. Start Fitness are unfortunately not able to cover any costs associated with this service if carried out by another store.
*Please note that this complimentary check-over does not include any labour to replace worn parts or to fit new accessories. All bikes should be delivered to us in a clean and serviceable condition, or a £15 cleaning charge will be payable.
Bike Servicing
Bicycles need to be serviced regularly, as a guideline we would advise on at least one full service per year and/or a standard service twice a year. If the bike is used regularly in adverse conditions, more regular servicing may be required.
