A solid shoe but old design was better.

I love the look of this shoe as the colour matches my mohawk and watch, this was the reason I purchased, that and I owned the old version in white. This shoe as a rule is a good solid training shoe and is still a competetive design for racing esspiecially for the larger athletes (12 stone-ish) But the new soft toe design and general construction leaves a little to be desired in comparison to the old structure of the earlier 'Velocity'. I doesn't feel as stable and a bit more cumbersome around the upper heel. The actual heel and spike plate are still fantastic as with most saucony spikes. But I feel the new design is about style over functionality which is not what I expect from Saucony. That said its still a good solid shoe that will last loads of track sessions plus getting a novice combined eventer through the jumps even but for my money its lost a little dynamism in it's evolution from the old design!
